Three out of the four season a year I practically live in Toms. They are just super comfortable, easy to throw in a bag, and really cute. I am especially attached to my brown and gold herringbone pair, but the fabric is a little bit heavier, which does not make them ideal for summertime. When I was searching for a new pair, I came across this incredible collaboration. Jonathan Adler + Toms = I want them all. Check out the line below….

Closet Update. (A girl can dream)

The countdown is on to the February 9th launch of the Peter Pilotto line at Target. Quite frankly I had never heard of him before, but I saw the Target ads, and LOVE LOVE LOVE the line he is debuting at Target. So I decided to do a little research on his regular line. And now I know why I haven’t heard of him before. Here are some of my favorite pieces from his regular collection. Try not to die when you see the prices. I need all of the readers I can get.

A Launch to Love.

We all know that Jay Z and Beyonce Run the world. And if you haven’t come to this realization yet, you will soon (they even have Obama on speed dial…just saying.) And if Jay Z was not busy enough with his music, clothing line, daughter, Grammy appearance, running the world etc. he just added another dimension to his brand - mens products.  Jay Z’s line includes after shave balm, shower gel, deodorant, and most notably, a cologne. So to all the men out there, this post is for you. I’m not making any promises though….you can pick up all of these products, but you likely will not wake up next to Queen B.

A Launch to Love.

Everybody is doing it. Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors…you name it. Big name clothing designers are branching out and adding cosmetic lines to their collections. The next big name to do this? Tory Burch. Her cosmetic “line” only has four items - a face brush, bronzer and highlighter palette, a lip and cheek tint, and a lip stick. Something tells me we will see more items in the line in the near future.

If you had to pick one person to take shoe advice from, out of every actress, designer, model, etc., who would you pick? I would want shoe advice from Carrie Bradshaw. She schlepped the streets of NYC in the most well known brands - Manolo Blahnik, Christian Louboutin, Stuart Weitzman, and more. (On a columnist’s salary nonetheless.) And on February 28th THE Carrie Bradshaw is debuting a collection of shoes exclusively at Nordstrom. Just click on the photo below to be directed to the Nordstrom website where you can sign up for emails about the launch.

Fab Find?

I recently was researching products on Amazon, and over half of the reviewers said they received the product from Influenster. I was really interested and did a little more research. Have you heard of Birchbox or other companies that send you a subscription box in the mail every month based on your interests? (Of course you have, you read this blog.) Well, this is like Birchbox, only FREE.

All that Influenster asks of you, is to give your honest, truthful opinion about each product. You can gain additional points by posting your reviews, connecting with social media and more! So what are you waiting for?

Beauty Beat.

Every magazine right now is doing an article on easy fall hair. One of those hairstyles is the beachy wave look. And in EVERY article they suggest sleeping in braids and taking them out in the morning for the “perfect” beach wave. This doesn’t work for me. I wind up with the kinkiest, rattiest looking hair. Does this work for anybody?

The other suggestion in every article is to use a curling product, completely dry hair with a diffuser, and then take a curling iron to it to add waves. Well, if I’m going to go through all of that effort, then I’m just going to straighten my hair.

Let’s be real. Anybody who wants a beach wave look for their hair is likely looking for an easy but decent-looking way out of actually styling their hair. I am currently loving Paul Mitchell Curl Ultimate Wave Beachy Texture Cream-Gel. It does not leave my hair crunchy at all, and even my horrible not-curly-but-too-heavy-to-be-really-wavy hair doesn’t get weighed down!

Nailed It.

Actual conversation which has happened between Jeff and I over the past couple of months.

Me: How much do you love me?

Jeff: A lot. What do you need?

While offended that he assumes I need something (gasp!), 9 times out of 10 I answer - “will you please take off the nail polish on my toes? I don’t want to ruin my nails.”

If I’m alone, I typically wear a rubber glove, or use a makeshift plastic bag over my hand, but I’m convinced (since I use 100% acetone) that it still seeps through and ruins my manicure. Which is why I’m so excited (and angry that I didn’t invent this!!!!) about the Cutex Cotton Ball Holder. This little gadget holds your cotton ball, and has a protective lip so that you won’t ruin your manicure. GENIUS!

Stop. Collaborate and Listen. (Closet Update Edition)

I am trying to act as if nothing has changed. Specifically, the weather. I am still wearing short sleeved shirts and sandals to work, in hopes that if I put on the front that summer is not over it will actually stay. Luckily, I have a space heater which is currently thawing my toes out. Anyways, one fall thing I can get behind is updating my wardrobe, and I’m loving Catherine Malandrino’s collaboration with Kohls. Her Parisian inspired designs are perfect for work, going out, and everything in between.
